During the "Candidate Cycle," presidential hopefuls from the major parties will present the government plans they would implement if they win the July 5 elections and will answer questions related to topics of interest to the business community and AMCHAMDR members.
Luis Abinader, presidential candidate for the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), will be the next guest speaker at the “Candidate Cycle 2020”, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR).
William Malamud, Executive Vice President, indicated that for more than 40 years, AMCHAMDR has organized the Candidate Cycle as a neutral forum where the leading presidential candidates present their government plans and visions regarding the business and investment climate, the rule of law, and the country's relationship with the United States.
Malamud stated that this is the first time this forum has been held virtually, but that the decision was made to ensure the collective health and physical integrity of all participants, given the situation that has arisen in the country with the arrival of COVID-19.
Abinader's speech will take place next Tuesday. May 26 at 4:00 PM. The candidate will have a first intervention to present the government plan that he would implement if he won the presidential elections on July 5.
In addition, he will answer questions of interest to the business community and AMCHAMDR members related to the business climate and relations with the United States, from the perspectives of the Trade Facilitation, Legal, Sustainability, Energy, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Committees.

The first of the virtual events was held last Wednesday, May 20. at 4:00 PM with the participation of former President Leonel Fernández, presidential candidate for the People's Force and allies, who presented his government plan.
