Gonzalo Castillo, presidential candidate for the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), will be the third and final guest speaker at the "2020 Candidate Cycle," organized by the American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic (AMCHAMDR).
Castillo's speech is scheduled for Thursday, June 4th, at 4:00 PM. The candidate will make his initial appearance to present the government plan he would implement if he wins the presidential elections on July 5th.
In addition, he will answer questions of interest to the business community and AMCHAMDR members related to the business climate and relations with the United States, from the perspectives of the Trade Facilitation, Legal, Sustainability, Energy, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Committees.
Prior to Castillo's appearance, presidential candidates Leonel Fernández and Luis Abinader, representing the Fuerza del Pueblo and Modern Revolutionary Parties, participated separately in the "2020 Candidate Cycle," an event held by the American Chamber of Commerce for more than 40 years.
The Candidate Cycle is a neutral forum where candidates to lead the nation present their government plans and visions regarding the business and investment climate, the rule of law, and the country's relationship with the United States. This is the first time the forum has been held virtually.
The American Chamber of Commerce reported that those interested in acquiring virtual access for the "Candidate Cycle" should call 809.332.7243 or write an email to events@amcham.org.do.
The event will feature speakers from Ramón Ortega and William Malamud, president and executive vice president of AMCHAMDR, respectively, as well as the chairs of the Working Committees: Rafael Velazco (Energy), Alexander Schad (Trade Facilitation), Josefina Navarro (Sustainability), María Esther Fernández A. de Pou (Legal), and María Waleska Álvarez (ICT).
